The School Library Systems Association of NYS negotiates and coordinates state pricing to electronic subscription database services such as ProQuest and Electric Library as an ongoing service to its members.

The organization has attempted to share with its members and their participating libraries opportunities to preview similar online resources as they have become available and to seek additional access to statewide pricing and contracts.

As part of this continuing effort SLSA has participated in activities of the NYCOLC (New York Consortium of Library Consortia) a group of library network organizations. This participation has allowed input and access into state contracts from OGS (Office of General Services) for online resources and contact with two other major statewide negotiating and contracting organizations - WALDO and NYLINK.

SLSA has now become an aggregate contracting partner with WALDO and NYLINK. Both organizations have provided new membership options which make it possible for school library access to their negotiated pricing and contracts for databases and other electronic services. School library media centers in NYS may now obtain greater discounts for subscription databases through their School Library Systems.

The School Library Systems Association (SLSA) is an incorporated organization representing the 42 School Library Systems in New York State assisting their member districts and participating libraries to better serve their constituents as part of the statewide library network.

The Westchester Academic Library Director's Organization (WALDO) is a consortium representing academic, public and special libraries in the Westchester County area of New York State. The first major offering for schools will be the EBSCO databases and EDRS*ESubscribe (ERIC full text documents).

NYLINK is a not-for-profit membership organization for all types of libraries and information organizations throughout New York State and surrounding areas and is one of 16 regional OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) affiliated networks.
